Good for drilling glass

Great for drilling a neat hole in glass bottles to make lights. Use the slowest speed on the drill, be patient & take your time, wear thick gloves (or clamp the bottle to a bench/in a vice somehow), be patient & take you time, lubricate the drill tip with water often - I have a dish of water nearby & dip the tip of the drill in it from time to time (if you operate the drill whilst the drill tip's in the water it cleans the drill tip as well as lubricating it so that it lasts longer), be patient & take your time & be prepared for glass dust. Did I mention that you should be patient & take your time?!?! Also I go up incrementally in drill sizes - start off with 6mm drill bit, then 8mm & finally 10mm, 10mm is big enough for most string lights to pass through. Hope this helps :)

Did its job well

Needed to put four 8mm holes in some very hard tiles, an ordinary masonry drill bit hardly made a mark on these tiles before burning out.Gave these diamond drill bits a go as opposed to buying a "proper" (and expensive!) diamond drill bit.Used the slow speed on my battery drill and ensured water was on the drill bit all the time.Used a template with a 8.5mm hole in it to ensure the drill bit did not wander.I used only a bit of pressure when drilling; sure it takes a few minutes for each hole, but the result was spot on.Used just one of the 8mm diamond bits for all four holes.More than happy with these bits for the price.Reading some other reviews of similar drill bits, I think maybe some users might be drilling at too high a speed and/or without water, thus burning the bits out. Take your time, lubricate and let the drill bit lightly 'grind' its way through.

Very easy to use

I made a drilling guide by drilling a hole in a piece of thin plywood because these hole saws do not have a centering drill bit. While drilling I kept the hole saw cool with plenty of water. I drilled at my normal pace not too slow or too fast. I didn't press too hard but let the weight of the cordless drill do the work and in a jiffy I had a neat hole in a glass bottle! I was amazed at how easy it was to a drill glass bottle. In fact, it took longer to drill the plywood. I am very, very pleased.

Good Value for Money

This was my first time drilling holes in plates and I have found these drill bits to work perfectly well. I have drilled about 10-15 holes so far and each one has been a good, clean hole. Just don't try to go through too quickly; you need a different approach when drilling china compared to wood or metal. You have to go slow and steady and with low to medium drill speed. I would certainly buy more of these bits in the future

Fantastic value as they actually work..

Bought these after reading other reviews, to drill porcelain tiles. They do about one and a half holes each, which is around 15 holes in all . That’s extremely good as i’ve paid over £20 before for just one named diamond bit and only got 4holes, ex bathroom fitter so i’ve had plenty of experience. These really have surprised me, at that price i’m buying more..

They cut through porcelain tiles

Surprisingly good value. We just moved in to a new house and loads of items to fit on tiled surfaces. So far these have been ideal. I tend to use each drill for no more than 4 - 6 holes as they lose their initial cutting ability, but at this price (compared to damaging a tile) they are disposable.I use them at medium drill speed with either a water spray or by stopping every 15 seconds or so and running the tip under the tap to clean and cool it. TIP - mark hole with masking tape and start drilling with the drill angled down 45 degrees to the wall. Start your hole at the six o'clock position with the tip of the drill. Once the drill has started to bite gradually bring up to horizontal position. Once you have a good clean cut circle about 1mm deep this is the time to start going forward. Going straight in at the start like using a normal wood drill will have you skidding off the tile and possibly scratching it.

One drill per hole

Bought these as just finished tiling a bathroom with 10mm black granite tiles and had to drill a few holes to fit a towel radiator sink etc, they will do the job, start the drill of at an angle then straighten up slowly and drill the hole using a fast drill 240v as batery drills are a bit to slow, but only managed one hole per drill mostly before the tip burns out, cheap and cheerfull but got the job done, but for £7 for 10 drills i didnt expect them to last long. also used a couple of them to drill a concrete lintel to put a blind up !

unbelievable product

after wearing out 4 drills to drill 6 holes i invested in these 'cheap' bits thinking that i may be get a total of another 4 holes out of the entire pack, i really needed 10mm and 6mm so the 8 was just a bonus...well i couldn't have been more wrong........ i have drilled so many 6mm holes in 10mm porcelain tiles with complete ease and only a battery drill its just unreal. i have the same experience with the 10mm as well and both are still going strongyes the price is cheap but performance is very strong
