Works amazing on lament wood
The coverage is amazing and it works wonderfully for priming lament/sleek finishes on wood without sanding. Let it dry overnight until you paint it to make sure it solidifies. It only took one coat even on a dark color. The wood will repell it but keep insisting and it will stick!

Covers well and binds to sealed surfaces -
This primer - sealer is the best! Easy to apply and covers surprising well even though is of a thin viscosity! Highly recommend!!

The Best
This stuff prevents leakages of stains, paints, or anything else you don't want to leak through and ruin your paint job. There's nothing like it. I highly recommend this for any paint job you are considering even if you don't have any stains to cover up. You always need a good primer.

Easy to apply!
I ordered this to seal plywood subfloors that have received damage from puppy potty training accidents :( I read on multiple forums that this will seal away odors. I was skeptical about applying it as my experience with kilz was less than ideal. I found their oil based primer to be a nightmare to apply. This was so easy!!!! I bought foam rollers and the BIN spread so easily. The only stain it has not covered after 2 coats is sharpie. That doesn’t bother me but I mention it if that’s an issue for anyone else.Absolutely do apply with good ventilation and wear a mask. The odor is foul! But it does dry quickly & the odor disappears.

Best primer!
This is the best primer to use on anything you really need to seal to prevent any bleed through! I used this on my knotty pine cabinets in the kitchen before painting and it worked amazing!Only thing is it is a STRONG smell, so be sure to use a painting mask and use this product outside if possible!

Love this product!
This is a great primer for drywall that’s been ripped down to the cardboard! Used on a wall that had floor to ceiling mirrors and it covered the cardboard so I could mud without it bubbling. Also used it to prime holes made by anchors and screws. Sits great under drywall mud and/or paint. My last use was baseboards that were ripped from the wall and had mold/mildew underneath. This covered the color and any smell. Stuff is wonderful. Using in my bathroom next!

Works, But Expensive
Purchased to seal some water damaged wood on a hardwood floor before placing a rug over it. I had initially planned on using Kilz, but came across discussion about how this product, being shellac-based, was far superior in covering up stains and odor. The product came wrapped in two layers of bubble wrap inside a box, but the can was still dented and damaged. Thankfully not enough to make the lid pop off.The consistency is very much like thick milk. I forgot to get a paint stirrer so I shook the can well, then used a plastic knife to stir and it worked. It rolled on smoothly, and stuck very well. It also does dry very fast, but that's to be expected as the shellac is suspended in alcohol, which evaporates quickly. it seems to be working for its intended use. The alcohol smell wore off after it fully-dried.I just wish it were cheaper. I learned that this primer is slightly cheaper in stores, but it's still expensive. I would recommend only using it for areas that need it. Smoke, fire damage? Mold damage? Bad odors? Sure, it'll be great. Regular priming without need for any other consideration? You'll be paying through the nose for it.

No bleed-thru of cherry wood or finish
Shellac-based primer is the stuff to use to prevent bleed-thru of cherry furniture. Paint is thick so use thin strokes or add a little water to the paint. Dries quick and very easy to sand and touch up if you make a mistake. Has a strong smell but didn't make me ill; strong smells usually give me a headache. Smells like Pepto Bismol but is not unpleasant; just make sure you have ventilation. Overall, this was an excellent primer for prepping wood furniture for chalk painting.
