I purchased this dual band antenna setup for my GMRS radio, but will probably use it for my Ham radio as well when needed. I wanted something that'd be discrete without announcing to others that there's a radio installed within the truck, and this antenna suited my intentions very well. I know that distance may be compromised a bit, but having two-way comms is just for rag chewing with others and monitoring for emergencies. In a pinch, I'll have my mobile device with me anyway if I really need to seek EMS. The only 'flaw' with this antenna mount is having to seal up the cable connection at the base of the mount. I wanted to ensure that water won't be trickling down into the cable that will cause problems later in the future. Good thing for silicone sealant... does wonders in sealing up small areas.

I use this antenna for about 6 months now. This is about 2.5 to 3DB gain, is not a great antenna vs the Nagoya UT-72G. But it still work ok for close communication between convoy. But for longer distances, this shortly is not so good. The radio I pair with is wouxun kg-xs20g plus 20 wattsThe reason I use this antenna is because it comes with all hardwares and mounts I need, and the low profiles design. Most of the time I use this antenna is for off roading and when we go under low clearance place like trees and branches, many time the long antenna got knock off. also the convoy is within short distances (within 1 miles, with obstacles). it works better with is short guy. When I do overlanding with more open road, I swatch back to Nagoya UT-72G. It covers a lot more range.

I was looking for a low profile nmo antenna mount for my 2020 jeep gladiator. Not many antenna mount options that I liked. This mount worked perfect, nice and neat. Haven't had time to do much testing with the antenna but was able to hit local ham repeaters as I would expect from my driveway. I have a longer whip nmo antenna I keep under back seat, If I need better transmit range I can easily swap it out. So far happy with this mount and antenna.

Reception is clear! Fits just right on my rack! I didn't use the mount for the hood.

It rusted within a week, the metal quality of the mount is substandard which makes me question the longevity of it. However. It throws together easily and suits the bill for a rapid-temporary GMRS ghost-style antenna

I had some minor issues with signal when communicating with others when trail riding - signal breaking up. I needed an external antenna but didn't want a really tall whip so the machine could easily get in and out of the garage door height. This is perfect and we get pretty good range now.I cut off the UHF connector and installed a BNC Male connector - on the handheld, I installed a BNC Female to SMA Male adapter in place of the handheld antenna.I should note that the handheld sits down low, below out legs, and is connected to our Headset Intercom system. That's mostly why we had such low signal. The BNC Connection makes it easy for me to pull the handheld out for charging without much fuss.

Th bandwith is not big as expected for the size, for my used is ok, but not a comparison with a real dualband antenna

Did not want to mount it on my hood i wanted it on my trunk and it did not work but I ended up just taking off the lip clip part and finding a place to put it on the top of my runner, Ended up working perfectly yes the Internet isn't the best but I really thought for the amount and the lower profile for when I daily drive and when I need to I have two other in tennis that I can attach to it.

As long as you can mount it!! Son hoods when lifted will get there paint chipped.So look it over good.But great quality, nice size!

Excellent range on my Chinese made ham radio. I recommend this one for sure!

Did not end up testing and sending it back.1. Be aware that the gasket under is not soft silicon. It is soft plastic and if not careful could scratch you paint2. Also it's not assembled, and you need to disassemble the antenna end of wire to put it through and ins install it

It works but some of the hardware (a bolt) got rust on it after a year of use.
