Anticipating possible difficulties in acheiving ceiling uniformity between existing drywall and new drywall surface, this product was a godsend resulting in a perfectly flat surface probably unachievable to that degree without it. It maybe sort of overkill for vertical surfaces at eyelevel or below, but when working on a ladder on higher vertical surfaces let alone upside doŵn trying to match butt jointed dry wall pieces in the case os a ceiling before taping can be a real challenge. The device is powerful though relatively light weight with lighted edges to illuminate the work area. The dust bag is slung over the shoulder with adequate length to allow considerable degrees of freedom.

Great for sanding the ceiling I save a lot of time. Easy to handle..

Straight out of the box this sander didn't remove much compound. Included in the accessory bag were a couple very thin round washers to be used as shims under the sanding plate. When I added both the sanding became much more aggressive. Though not stated exactly in the rather poor instructions, I suspect the sanding discs from various manufacturers may vary in thickness, hence the need for shims.So overall the value is great.The collection bag captures almost all the sanding dust when doing large flat areas, but loses efficiency when working close to outside corners.The unit will only sand within about 1" of any inside corner (ceiling, wall, floor) due to the design of the dust extractor shroud.The integrated LED lights are really helpful to see the details of the work surface.The variable speed feature has just about the right range of speeds for most jobsSanding discs are available from a good number of suppliers and a good range of grit, though the ones that come with the sander are maybe not the best selection.

I have tried all sorts of vacuum sanders, and this, for the price is ok. Use with bag was worthless (dusty), so I hooked up to a vacuum, which worked fairly well. In hooking directly to the vacuum, it had too much suction and it would not move freely on the area I was sanding. To remedy this, I drilled some relief holes in the hose connection and that seemed to work pretty well. I used this to (rough sand) a skim coat on a ceiling and it worked pretty well for that. It does not appear to be the best for finish sanding (at least on a ceiling skim coat). It may be best suited for finish sanding wall joints on new drywall, but I only used on a skim coat on a ceiling. I had pretty rough ceilings, and this left me a good, smooth, flat surface to put my final tight skim coat on. Like I said, I tried it for the final sand, but it left a just barely too rough finish for paint (I used the 320G it came with). All in all, it is probably worth the money to try for yourself if you have a fair amount to do and want to keep the dust down. If you have a lot of ceiling to do (as I did) you may want to spring the extra $$ for a pole powered vac sander. It gets tiring using on ceilings and difficult to hold just right to get a good finish. If you have mainly walls, probably will work pretty well.

This drywall sander is amazing. It reduces the dust and allows you to complete the project quickly. The dust collection bag is easy to remove and empty. I would totally recommend this product. Also check out the ceiling sander too.

Great product.

Very satisfied with this sander. It is light weight, has great power, and sands uniformly. The LED lights illuminate the wall well. It also has good cord length which comes in handy. I have been very pleased with the dust collection. The sander came with a hose and collection bag, or the hose can connect to a shop vac. Very little dust escapes when sanding. Several pieces of sandpaper were included. It saved me a huge amount of time, and saved my lungs from a lot of dust.

The workmanship is very good, the light band is particularly bright, the power is strong, the sanding is labor-saving, and it is very smooth and delicate. The power cord is the right length and the quality is very good. Cost-effective and easy to use.
