I have a wall I wanted to hang my Henckel knives from that is 171/2 inches from the cupboard to the doorway opening, so you can imagine how thrilled I was to find this after all my searching. When it came it was 18" long, I luckily have a very handy husband that had the tools to cut it off & mount it for me. That said, I have had it up & in use for just a couple of weeks & it seems to be fine, even tho' there are marks on it & my knives & it looks like it might be starting to rust.

I owned the magnetic knife bar pictured. It works very well, but that IS NOT THE ONE THEY SEND YOU if you order this.I don't know if Henckles changed their product or this is a different model, but that older model, with the visible screws, was great. Sadly, I left it in my condo when I moved out because I had drilled mounting holes in the tile.I ordered this one to replace it, but it is a totally different style. I already own one of this style, and it is garbage.In what is apparently an attempt to hide the scary screw heads, they went to a hidden mounting under a plastic bracket that FALLS OFF sometimes when I remove a knife. Imagine having $500 of knives falling two feet onto your countertop.Since the one you get IS NOT THE ONE PICTURED, I give this an "avoid".This is the first Henckles product I have ever given a bad review.

Love this magnet. Had a bit of frustration at getting it installed (I'm better at baking than at shop stuff) so had a neighbor come do it. Thanks to Alton Brown for showing me how to use one, I rushed right to my computer and ordered it. My knife drawer is now safe to use, and my knives on the bar will stay sharper longer. For symmetry, I had the bar placed on the wall above the knife drawer ;-)

Product came broken and missing one of the brackets to hang it on the wall - not entirely the manufacturers issue, but still should be noted. I'm giving it 2 stars because I did test the strength of the magnet/ease of removing the knives and it seemed like it would have been awesome.

I live in an apartment with a tiny, galley-style kitchen. I have next to NO counter space. I was fed up with having the small piece of counter next to my stove filled up with a spice rack AND a knife rack AND a utensils jar.I found the Henckel's magnabar here on amazon and gave it a try. Now I am not your Miss Fix-It type so maybe others would not have this problem, but I found it awkward to mount this thing on the wall next to my stove. The end caps of the bar, which you use to set the screws in, and the top and bottom edging of the bar are plastic and rather flimsy. By the time I got the bar up and stable, one edge of the magnabar had bent/come loose. After sinking the screws into my wall, I didn't want to stop and return it, so I just put the "bad side" back toward the corner where it won't be as noticeable.I do really enjoy having more counter space and all the knives lined up on the bar looks great, but I have to admit I expected a higher quality product from Henckels.

Long for my many knives! Very strong magnet, it holds up my Cleaver and all the other knives u used to have in a knife Block. Drilled it into the tile back splash and it holds great.
