The Ultimate Collection - The Platters

I never knew how prolific this group was. Great music for the entire three (3) CDs. Worth the purchase if you like their music.

This CD is wonderful. Every song a hit

I grew up in the 1940's and 1950's listening to the best singers, and among them, the Platters. I can't get enough of this CD. I should probably order another one because I will wear this one out listening to it. There are songs on there with which I was not familiar and I considered myself a well-informed listener of music of those eras. To hear good music, beautiful voices and be able to sing along with many of the songs is just heaven for me. Love this CD!!

What a delightful assemblage of oldies! At first I was going to complain about "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter" because it was obviously digitized from a vinyl that was warped and made much of the rendition off-key. After listening to it many times, I decided that that is part of the nostalgia. Who didn't find, at least once, that a disk got damaged by heat, whatever, but they held onto it because of fond memories. So now I listen to that number with a different mind-set and I don't wince at the off-key sounds. It is truly a great collection.
