I'm pretty sure these are the real thing. They came in a good packaging with instructions and they work well. I used them to hang a medium-size tapestry. Good number of strips for the price.

Bad batch received. Doesn't stick at all
Bad batch. Junk. Did not stick to the smooth veneer.I have command strips from 5 years ago that actually worked as expected, but this batch was just a disaster.
