I bought a pack of these about 2 months ago. I play for a few hours everyday. I still haven’t worn one out yet. These are great picks.

Q: What makes them so expensive?

If there is such a thing as a "MAP" policy, it sounds a lot like the old "fair trade" policy, which was outlawed in the 70s or 80s.

Q: How do these compare to a jazz 3 pic?

I have used the black jazz 3 for along time and loved the black one, but did not like the red one much because of its tone. In comparison the prodigy are a bit larger in size, and thicker, and more pointy. The material is similar to that of the black Jazz 3, but a little softer. In terms of tone, I think they are very similar in that they are both in the treble side since there is less contact with the strings. In terms of playability, I think they are more comfortable than the jazz 3. I have short thick fingers which make it a bit difficult to hold the smaller jazz 3 pick. Additional details: I compared a pick that I used for around 3 months, around 2 hours per day, to a new one. After 3 months of use the pick's tip got more rounded and less pointy, but it's still playable. I have also purchased the black Prodigy picks, they are very similar to the white ones in terms of shape and size, but the material is stiffer, causing more slap, and more treble. I found the white one to be more balanced in terms of tone than the black one.

Q: What are the dimensions of the actual, individual picks?

24x29 mm (0.94 x 0.114"). They're just about 1 mm smaller in width than a regular pick, but you can actually feel it. They're great for fast playing though.

Pretty good quality picks

I am impressed with the quality of these picks. Make sure you pick the right size because I thought standard 1.5mm ones would be okay but it turned out to be really small.
