since when is "vegetable tablet coating" a legit ingredient? what is it made of?  palm oil (clear cutting last orangutans habitat) & stearic acid?

Our organic vegetable tablet coating does not contain cellulose, corn, gluten, dairy, magnesium stearate or other synthetic aids. It is certified organic and made from a material similar to Pullulan, a fungal-derived fiber polysaccharide created through a traditional fermentation process. It is a light coating that keeps the tablets together but still allows them to be highly digestible once they reach your digestive system. We spent years working to create this very special vegetable coating that would meet organic certification specifications, but also adhere to our principles of whole food nutrition.  Most tablets on the market are covered in some kind of shellac, which is often a synthetic substance or a product derived from beetle secretions. Because we were unwilling to use these ingredients in our products, we had to develop a new process and a new coating to deliver the best possible product for you.

Does this have cyanocobalamin in it?

Most supplements are made from artificially manufactured "isolated" nutrients, which means there is usually just one single form of vitamin or mineral used for each. For example, for vitamin B12, most supplements companies use the synthetic version of B12 called cyanocobalamin (which is also the cheapest to produce). The type of B12 in our food-matrix vitamins is not one of these isolate forms so it cannot be specifically classified as cyanocobalamin, methylcobalamin, hydrocobalamin, etc on the label. It is in the form found in food, with the B12 molecules joined in a "matrix" of other food compounds. B12 found in nature is present in a variety of cobalamin forms (usually bound to small carrier proteins) so this is how it's found in our supplements as well. Your body absorbs it as it would B12 from other natural sources and converts it as necessary to the forms needed by the body. By taking your supplements in food-form, you are mimicking nature's method of whole food nutrition, which we believe to be the best.
