Day 1: Based on my barber's recommendation, I combed the gel into hair after applying with hands. Being in the Navy, I do have to wear a cover throughout the day and the gel stayed firm and in place. I was quite surprised to find that when I went to bed that evening, my hair was still as applied it that morning. Awesome.Day 2: I awoke and was quite surprised to find my hair had not moved an inch throughout the night. I sleep on my back, so there was not a lot of opportunity for it to move, but this is quite a surprise. I was running late, so I wet my hair, brushed my teeth, and put on deodorant. I found it held throughout the second day.Day 3: My hair refuses to move, and my initial joy is now turning to shock. Combs and brushes cannot penetrate the Luke-Cage-esque skin the gel has created. I am at a loss.Day 15: This is my life now. Several specialists have attempted to coax my hair into a different position. While their research is promising, I have come to accept I will have perfect hair. Sometimes when the sun catches it just right, I cry a little.

I’m going to give this product a 5 star rating because it’s the perfect gel for me. It holds perfectly for my length of hair and hairstyle. My hair is around 4-6 inches. All I do is gel it and comb it back for my slick back hairstyle.BUT! BEWARE! THESE AMAZON PACKERS CAN’T PACK FOR NOTHING. I USED TO WORK FOR AN AMAZON FACILITY AS A PACKER AND I WOULD NEVER PACKED IT THE WAY IT WAS. I WOULD’VE USED A BIGGER BOX TO PUT SOME PACKING MATERIAL. THAT WAY THERE WOULDN’T BE ANY CHANCES OF PUNCTURES AND BOUNCE OF THE PRODUCT DURING SHIPPING AND HANDLING. THEY COILDN’T EVEN KEEP THE LID SEALED TIGHT ONTO THE CONTAINER. THE BOX HAD GEL EVERYWHERE. GEL AT THE TOP OF THE CONTAINER WHERE IT GETS SEALED, ON THE CONTAINER AND INSIDE OF THE LID. THIS MADE THE PRODUCT’S LID LOOSE. ACTUALLY NO NOT LOOSE. IT WAS JUST THERE AT THE TOP OF THE CONTAINER LIKE NO ONE CARED. NO TIGHTNESS WHATSOEVER. NADABUT! I’m not going to do anything about it since I don’t want to wait for another jar of gel. I hate going to work with messy hair. My hair is tameless. Especially when it’s long. I threw the box away and already cleaned the container and lid. Plus I got this jar for around twice the price of the 16 oz but I get to have 4 times the amount. So overall I am happy.BUT NEXT TIME AMAZON/3RD PARTY SELLER GETS AN ORDER FOR THIS, THEY BETTER MAKE SURE ITS PACKED UP CORRECTLY. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO OPEN UP A BOX TO A BUNCH OF GEL AND AN OPENED PRODUCT AND CLEAN UP THE RETAILER’S/SELLER’S MESS. OKAY I’M DONE. GOODBYE.

Let me just say that the delivery was excellent. The item arrived the following day, so a big thanks to the seller! So my initial impressions for this product were good, so i decided to test it out. I have very stiff & wavy hair so i needed a hair product that could be strong enough to allow me to stlye my hair. The Gel has a nice smell to it and its not too sticky or uncomfortable to rub in the hands. Its also very easy to apply in the hair as it doesn't cause a mess. It also has a really nice shine on the hair and washes off easily but, it doesn't really have a strong hold even though it says on the bottle "hard hold" but nonetheless it still manages to get the job done. I will still continue to use this gel until i finish it but after that ill look for something better. So in conclusion if you are looking for a gel with a good smell, high shine and medium hold then this one is for you.

Another company that starts to cut costs.I previously uses Suavecito until they began to cut costs and started thinning their product.Now after using the Refine gel, today i get another 16oz jar to find that the gel is thinner than the last bottle and the scent, although no bad, isnt close to what it used to be. What a shame.I wont look for a new product yet, but i am disappointed.

I'm more of a pomade type of guy myself but when it comes to hair-gel this is my go-to. It's absolutely flawless. The biggest appeal for me is the scent, it smells very good when I put this gel on I smell as though I just came out the shower. It's perfect for going out, it has a strong hold, it's consistency is a little bit sticky on the hands but easy to rinse off, it's not too oily on the hair either it's just the right amount of shine and moisture. If you don't mind the 15 dollar price for the 16 oz unit I would highly recommend it, your hair deserves it. They do offer a less expensive 8oz version too however the 160z can last you over a month with everyday use.

This gel has a very strong hold, know what you're getting into with this. If you're like me and dont like your hair getting out of place, this is the product for you. I've tried a ton of other products, some costing 2x or 3x as much and they do not compare to this gel. It has a light cologne smell, very subtle and not overwhelming and you get a lot of product in their tub. Hair dries with a shine to it but also very stiff, neither are a problem for me. Wish I would have stumbled across this sooner.

I tried this product because I wasn’t able to buy the gel I normally use because my barbershop was closed due to covid.As others have said, it has a really strong smell. I have to use a small amount otherwise it makes me a bit nauseous. It’s also on the greasy side, so I need to wash it out every night, otherwise my hair feels gross at the end of the day. I’m not a fan of this gel because I hate having greasy hair and the smell was too strong. It’s not as greasy as Suavecito, but it’s still greasy. It also caused my scalp to breakout. My scalp cleared up once I stopped using this gel.
