I replaced a SG300-20 with this switch and it's a major step up in terms of reliability and stability from the earlier SG300 series. The software has been updated so the switch ui isn't quite the same, but the update is well worth having to relearn where a few things are / how things work. The command line interface remains largely unchanged, and that's a good thing (IMHO)The hardware has been updated as well, with the old 9pin serial port being replaced with a standard-to-enterprise-cisco serial port with a jack type connector (cable included) and the switch feels (qualitatively only) faster (from a UI perspective). I am not a huge fan of having to always switch the UI from basic to advanced mode, it would be nice if that setting could be saved/remembered as a default (but in the end it's only a mouse click away) From a physical perspective, the switch itself physically feels more solidly built than the original SG300 series.Rock solid reliability is still the hallmark of of Cisco switches, it's been up/running without any issues for as long as I've owned it. The same devices connected via the new switch consistently have higher transfer rates (the switch was the only thing that changed) than when connected to the SG300-20All the core functionality you expect from a managed switch is present in spades, straight forward to configure and solid performance (things like link aggregation, vlans, trunking, layer 3 routing, etc, etc). The security pieces are a great addition and layer in easily and cleanly with minimal fuss. I am not a fan of the DHCP server implementation/performance, but it is functional and does the job, if in a somewhat lacking configuration flexibility manner.I recommended the original SG300 series (based on having a SG300-20 and -10), and the upgrades to the SG350 series make it more solid and more worth a recommendation, particularly for the SG350-28.NOTE: These switches have a lot of functionality that most non-enterprise users won't need and are priced accordingly, it's worth approaching the switch with that cost, complexity and feature set differential in mind :)

Worked just fine

It did come with a power cord for another country, but once I grabbed an IEC from my box of spares, we had no issues at all. If there had been issues (or if we have issues in a few months), I'm sure Cisco would not have honored any warranty claim. It's always a risk buying stuff like this from non-authorized resellers, but in this case it worked out fine.

My favorite switches

Solid budget managed switch. Swapped a few sg300 switches with these guys outside of our network core. Can sobsole in or use the webgui which I do most of the time because I don't live on the network all day and only stop by a few times a month. Cisco funny guys reversed some of the commands on the command line, like the port vlan allow but other than that they are all configured the same.

Cisco Switch Meets Expectations

The first thing you will notice is that the user interface is a lot different than previous Cisco Switches. However once you get over that surprise, you’ll learn to appreciate it. You don’t hear so much as a whisper with this quiet fan less smart switch. I was concerned with heat however there was not too much but I sill recommend installing a rack fan above it just for safety. If this is your firms unmanaged switch, the basic UI will help you transition slowly. If you’re a enterprise fear not, the advanced UI option has all the features you’ve come to expect from a Cisco switch. You can have each port be layer 3. There is a VLAN wizard for newbies but you can configure to your hearts content in advanced mode if need be.

Never had too much trouble with switches going bad so not really worried about it

Was a little leery about buying this switch (cisco sg350-28) with some of the negative reviews. With the price being almost half what I could get from our other vendors I decided to risk buying 1 switch. I was please with the item. Brand new as advertised and couldn't tell any difference from our other cisco switches I have bought. I downloaded and installed the firmware updates without any trouble. Not sure about the warranty but suspect it probably will have the same 1 year as most new devices. Never had too much trouble with switches going bad so not really worried about it. Looks like the real deal and I plan on purchasing more from this amazon vendor.

High performance PoE switch with great support

Easy to configure PoE switch with great features. Port isolation is a very useful tool. It's more expensive than other brands but has outstanding tech support and warranty.

This is a great quiet fan less smart switch

This is a great quiet fan less smart switch. The web GUI management interface makes it easy to configure the switch. It is a great option for those who wants to upgrade from an unmanaged switch. Each ports default to layer 2, but you can change each port to layer 3. VLANs are easy to configure with the VLAN wizard. Configure your existing DHCP to assign the switch an IP address (MAC is on the box and switch) and plug the switch into your existing network to get started, otherwise it uses its a default IP.

Failed after 3 years, no help with mfg warranty

The switch worked perfectly for the first 3 years, then ports began to fail one by one. Cisco has a warranty of 5+ years, so I tried to get it replaced or repaired under warranty. However, Cisco required information from the seller and the Amazon seller (ATHQ) would not return calls or provide the informaiton I needed. I recommend only buying from a Cisco authorized distributor, ATHQ is not one.
