This shredder works effectively, though I'm only a light user of it. The pieces produced are as expected; nice and small and definitely will make it very hard to piece my papers back together again! The internal bin takes quite a lot of shredded paper, and having a completely removable top enables easy emptying. The shredder is good value, and arrived very quickly. I keep it in one place, as the lid doesn't attach (just rests on top), so if you want something to move around / pick up, bear that in mind.

This compact and sturdy shredder is ideal for occasional or light home use shredding only. If you have a lot of shredding or intend to use this shredder for your home office then it is definitely too small.It is very easy to use and doesn't make too loud noise while shredding. It has a small window to show you when the bin is full and there is safety lock which is very useful if you have small children. However, you need to lift the cover up in order to empty the bin and the cover is a touch heavy for such a small machine but it is a manageable weight.It does shred A4 size papers, staples and credit card as stated but I haven't try paper clips yet so I can’t comment on that. I stressed on A4 size because any papers wider than that you would need to tear them in half in order to feed in to the opening.I tried to shred up to 8 pieces of papers at a time without any problem. However, I must stress that the 8 piece of papers I shredded was the same thickness as the computer printer papers. I would definitely reduce the amount for thicker papers so not to jam up the machine. I would not recommend shredding cardboard papers.As the shredder is very small and so the bin gets filled up very quickly. I managed to by pass this problem by pressing the shredded paper down inside the bin whenever they reached the half way point of the viewing window.I read from a few reviews that it could get messy when emptying the bin so I put a 15 litres pedal bin liner inside the bin and that worked wonder. All I needed to do was to lift the bin liner out when it got full. I had lifted 2 full bin liners from the shredder and there weren’t any mess on the floor!!

Quick and effecient service

It’s a good domestic use double cut shredder that is only suitable for one sheet at a time if 80gsm weight of paper. What they don’t tell you is that after every box empty you need to lubricate the blades by buying appropriate shredder oil. Suggest a bottle since cheaper and follow east to use instructions. One 500ml bottle costing £5-00 will last you a year easily for 1000 A4 pages. Would suggest use that for even basic shredders. It’s good and effective shredder but not for volume office use. I would buy again as really shreds well and box will hold three times more than an ordinary shredder. Oiling, - simple. Use a sheet destined for shredding, zig zag a single east to apply single stripe of oil, and put through shredder. Job done. Also note that Every Cross shredder needs this. One negative, occasionally you will need to open and clear the bunching of paper from the blades. But that’s really infrequent unless putting through 50 sheets at a time one after another. only reason I give 4 stars, is this occasional clogging and speed to shred paper. Unable to put two sheets through at any one time but I would certainly would buy another.
