Hi, no, this does not have a separate compartment. The one compartment does extend if required hence the midway zip.

Q: Hi There, Im worried is too big, as in some of the pics it looks fairly large, can it be downsized. I cant work it out with the extra zip?

Its actually quite compact. I have had mine for years and I really like it. The extra zip (the one near the small end) allows it to "concertina" out for temporary increased capacity if you need it, but you would keep that zipped up in normal use.
