If you need full month and week spreads, this is it!
After several years trying various paper planner types, this is the one that I've found works best for me. 2022 will be my fourth year using this planner; never before in my life have I been so consistently satisfied. Of course, everyone's planning needs are different, so here's the rundown on how I use my planner, which should help you decide whether this one will work for you.I'm a freelance writer-illustrator who is this year finishing up my first bachelor's degree. I also work part-time for my local community college as a Japanese tutor. I therefore need to plan long-term projects while still remembering appointments and meetings that occur on a daily and weekly basis. I find the monthly spreads in this planner extremely useful for setting myself up for success every month, showing me the big picture all at once. The weekly spreads then help me keep those long-term goals in mind while not forgetting everyday responsibilities and plans. Usually what I do is fill out the monthly spread on the first day of each month, then I fill out important dates in the weekly spread each Monday, and every night I fill out the next day's schedule in the weekly spread. This planner is also great because it includes a personal information section, which is helpful in case you lose your planner or during an emergency; a general contacts section, where I usually tape the business cards of new contacts; and a huge section of lined paper taking up the second half of the book. The latter feature means I don't have to keep track of a separate notebook, whether I'm in need of writing space at home or while I'm out, which always comes in handy. I'll have finished school next year, so I might not use the notes section as much this time, but I'm sure I'll still be using it for brainstorming, making shopping lists, taking notes about my work, and even just using it as scrap paper to revive drying pens or take down quick phone numbers. There are two things about this planner that have been minor but persistent negatives for me in the past, but this year they fixed one of them! There's always a sheet of sticker tabs included to mark the months if you like, but until the 2022 planner, the colors seemed wantonly chosen and not particularly harmonious. I've included a photo showing how much the color selection has been improved this time. As a professional illustrator, minor things like this really matter to me, so I'm stoked that all through 2022 I'll get to see this beautiful rainbow gradient in my planner every day!The one thing left that bothers me about this planner, which wasn't fixed this time, is the use of "Columbus Day" instead of "Indigenous Peoples Day". I know this isn't an issue to some people, but it's actually really irksome to me, and I'm sure other people understand that feeling. It's not enough of a problem to make me not buy the planner, but perhaps someone with the power to change it for 2023 will see my review and act!In summary, I absolutely love this planner and see myself using it for years to come. The paper is nice quality, it comes with two ribbon bookmarks, a pocket on the back cover, a pen loop, and a closure strap, to mention the other nice qualities that I hadn't covered above. If you need a planner that has both monthly and weekly spreads, I recommend giving this one a shot!

No non-sense planner
As a person who values function above all in a work planner, I did a lot of research before purchasing this item and I can easily say that it is probably the most no non-sense planner I have ever owned. You will not find colorful pages with metallic finishes, inspiration quotes or a section to plan out your hopes and dreams here. What you will get is a black and grey, leather bound, well made and super functional weekly planner. There are exactly 5 pages for your personal info, yearly overview, holidays and 2 page for contacts; immediately followed by a monthly calendar on a 2 page spread, and then the weekly planner pages. In the back you get a substantial amount of ruled notebook pages plus 1 page of US states and capitals with their timezones closing out the book.Much like a Moleskine planner, there is a handy flat pocket on the inside back cover plus an elastic band to keep the book closed.Unlike a Moleskine however, the are not one but TWO book marking ribbons and a handy elastic band on the spine of the book to hold a pen!The pages are good quality and are thick enough that you can press down pretty hard with a juicy ball point pen and not have any color bleed on the other side of the page. While I love the smaller size of this planner, I do wish there was a bit more space to write on the weekly pages. As someone who has a busy work life and writes fairly big and fast, I do feel my notes get a bit cramped.I am also not a huge fan of the 2020 embossing design on the front cover, but since I like to put stickers all over my notebooks and planners; I can't complain too much.Overall I am really happy with the my purchase and would recommend it to anyone who want a super practical and functional planner.
