This APPERFiT Hood Latch•Catch with Bracket set was exactly what our 1999 Jeep Wrangler Sport 4.0L needed to complement the refresh of the headlamps, fender flares, side markers, signal lamps, and bumper end caps.Fortunately, the factory fasteners were not rusted, but I applied some penetrating oil before removing them, to be on the safe side.After carefully removing the OEM latches, to ensure the paint wasn’t damaged, I removed them, cleaned the surface, and applied a coat of high quality wax before installing the new parts.The APPERFiT parts fit just like the ORM parts, however, several improvements to the original design are evident:1. Nice latch
Easy install, only issue is the caps come off very easy that hold the pin in place. Might need to be glued so they don't poo off driving down the road.

I ordered a lot of parts and they are still in the boxes I'm slowly getting it done

These are cheap junk and won't last.
These latches are made of the flimsiest of materials. Only had them installed for a month and I already have hood flutter. I've tried to adjust them but the rubber just keeps stretching over a few days to the point they feel like they will snap in a strong gust of wind. The only good thing about them is they were available to replace the old ones that suddenly broke after 5 years.
