Plastic capsules, non piercing valve design
Delicious coffee, amazing rich flavour for the price.Capsules are plastic and design is such that machines won’t pierce the top, instead they have a small valve in the top, through which hot water passes under pressure, so you need good water pressure in your machine, and if you haven’t already, descale the machine to maintain pressure. As the capsule has a valve they need to be sealed in a bag to keep the coffee fresh, which is why they are packaged differently to aluminium capsules.Capsules work fine in my machine, albeit the flow is slow. The price point is the same as the Aldi capsules I buy, but the coffee is so much nicer.

Good coffee, too much plastic
Didn't like these at first, but they grow on you and smell great. The individual wrapped pods is so wasteful which will put me off buying again.

What a waste
The best that I can say about these Nespresso pods is that I only wasted £12. Each pod is individually wrapped in plastic (WHY?) I tried 4 pods in my machine and each one failed to perforate the thick plastic sufficiently, so the coffee came out extremely slowly (taking easily twice as long as any other pod I have used to fill a small cup). The colour of the coffee leaving the machine, which would indicate the strength, very quickly went from reasonably dark to almost clear, long before the cup was full. The taste verified the output colour, it tasted very weak, lacking any real flavour or depth.I now have 96 pods left that will find their way in with the rest of the rubbish in the wheely bin.

Doesn't fit
Arguably the best flavour I've had from a coffee pod since I started using nespresso. The flavour is rich, full and strong. So why 3 stars? They simply don't fit properly, they seem to have a single puncture hole in a plastic casing. I ended up wasting more than I drank. The plastic casing is an issue also, I know they are made in Italy but why not aluminium, it's recyclable in the UK and would expect some other countries. However I cannot recycle the plastic pods, combined with the fact they are then placed in plastic bags is just wasteful. It's an absolute shame because I won't buy them again, if they could implement a more compatible system then I would buy these every time

Coffee great. Pods not great!
I have tried many pods over the years ranging from plain awful to very good. Caffe Borbone coffee is a level way above very good. It is truly excellent. I have only tried the Blue and Black blends, both are great. The flavour is the best I've had. Is there a downside? Yes...For some reason the flow from the Nespresso compatible pods isn't great. Very often the coffee splatters and comes out very slowly. Sometimes the coffee hardly comes out at all. When it works it's great but it amazes me how a company can shoot themselves in the foot by going to all the hard work of producing great coffee only to get the easy part so wrong. Come on, please improve the quality of the pods. I've seen other reviewers mention this so it's nothing new but it seems like the company aren't concerned which is a shame. It's still, for me, the best coffee out there though. It's worth trying but don't be surprised by the pods. Sometimes they work fine so maybe you'll get a lucky batch!
