Q: I'm not sure i understand what the bottom zipper is for. can anyone tell me? it's so attractive looking, i'd love to buy it, but want to be sure first

Hi there: I believe the bottom zipper is there to make getting pies or especially cakes in and out of the carrier without ruining the frosting. Or you can unzip it, lift up the top of the case, and serve your pie while it is still in the carrier. Personally, I just use the top zipper and I've never had a problem getting the pies in or out of the carrier intact.I also want to mention that this is absolutely the best pie carrier I've ever used. I hunted for months before I stumbled upon this one. Most of the others are not only poorly designed and constructed, but they won't fit a large 10" deep dish pie plate with the little "handles" on the side. This carrier is very roomy and it will easily handle large heavy pies (like apple). Most of the others would snap apart or otherwise fail with heavy pies. I use embellished flour sack towels to sort of wrap the pie when I place it in the carrier and it makes for a beautiful presentation There's an ETSY shop called "The Tamed Towel." The shop owner does amazing work and will custom make towels that coordinate with your carrier. I actually own four of these carriers because I often have a few out on loan. You will not be disappointed. This is a must have.

Q: Where is it manufactured?

I honestly don’t know, but it has been a lifesaver in my RV for toting food all over! Never used it for pie or cake but it fills nicely with all the stuff we need to take to a cookout! love it!

Q: Wouldn’t a cake slide around and get frosting everywhere?

Yes. It is best for a pie, or a coffee cake without frosting. For a pie, I also purchased a plastic pie container that has a cover.

Q: how do you clean the inside?

This item isn't insulated but has an easy to clean foil lining. Spot clean this product (inside or out) with a damp cloth and wipe dry.
