My nephew loves this - favourite uncle status easily bought
The media could not be loaded. The competition for favourite uncle in my family is tough and my nephew does like to play on that. However with this device it was an easy victory for me. The G-stor 10.1" monitor is the dream addition to the Switch. It gives a much larger and better quality screen. It also comes with two batteries and has built in speakers that provide good quality audio. It's an expensive addition but for anyone who spends a lot of time using a switch, they will love this.Great product, fair price and definitely won me favourite Uncle status for the timebeing.

Very large display that any kid will love
The media could not be loaded. As far as gifts for a kid who likes gaming go this is pretty up there. The G-Story 10.1" portable monitor for switch will be the envy of your kids friends. The screen is of brilliant quality, comes with two rechargeable batteries for long usage times and the switch fits perfectly onto the device.Game play is great on the larger screen and it makes gaming more enveloping.

Docked Switch performance in handheld form factor!
This is a great screen upgrade for the Switch giving vibrant bright colours and an IPS screen, so no distortions at all even at extreme angles e.g. for when playing multiplayer games in table top mode. For table top mode it has an excellent strong stable kickstand too, WAY better than that of the original Switch, it's even better than the great one on the OLED Switch!Comparing the screen to that of the original Switch this one is definitely better in pretty much every way, vs the original's 6.2 inch screen, it is much larger and more immersive with better colours and contrast and full 100% SRGB support, so good and accurate colours.I actually got this for my OLED Switch and here it technically isn't so much of an upgrade as, of course, it is never going to better the colour vibrancy and inky blacks of an OLED display and being super critical I think the OLED was better with motion handling. Despite this, the G-story does very well in that it doesn't feel like a step backwards at all, just different, and helps a lot where you wish the screen was just that bit bigger, for reading text or just appreciating small details. Well actually the G-story is quite a lot bigger, even than the OLED Switch screen (7" vs 10.1").Installation is extremely easy, just slide any Switch or Switch OLED into the opening on the back of the monitor, it connects to the internal USB C and effectively the Switch thinks it is docked from then on and outputs to the screen, in the same way a docked Switch outputs to a TV. Joycons just clip into the holders on the left and right hand side. The only issue here is that the joycons will need to be official ones to attach (or at least match their dimensions) since the holders are made for this size. Plus as they are no longer directly connected to the Switch they need to be able to have a wireless connection, so you couldn't use the Hori split pad compact or pro, for instance, since it only connects directly to the rails on the Switch.Once attached the controllers feel nice and secure, just like on the Switch itself and the holders give them just that bit of extra size to make them a touch more comfortable for bigger hands than directly on the Switch. Still I do wish there was a way of using aftermarket Switch controllers that aren't wireless and attach directly to the console, like the Hori split pad compact and pro. Though to be fair to G-story I don't see how this could be done on this kind of set up. Also, the joycons will periodically need removing to charge up, since the Switch can no longer power them, as they aren't connected directly to it anymore while used with the monitor. The monitor can be powered in three different ways. Most obvious and simple is a mains connection using a suitable USB C AC adaptor like a smartphone one or the official Switch AC adaptor. This works great, but limits portability, as you need to be near an outlet. A good middle ground, and the solution I have settled on, is to have a powerbank connected to the power input, which gives you a degree of portability but you have to keep the power bank with you, of course. It doesn't drain a powerbank very quickly at all. A decent 20000mah or above will keep you going all day with ease, even a 10000mah will give several hours, no problem at all.The monitor can internally take two 18650 size rechargeable batteries to power the screen and Switch together with no messy wires. I thought this would be the perfect solution, but sadly the run time is very low on these. This is the one significant downside to this otherwise great monitor, and why I couldn't quite award a perfect 5/5 (it was very close). I could never get above an hour even at really low volume and brightness. To be fair the batteries I had weren't the best and had a very exaggerated capacity. The manufacturer specifies up to two hours is possible with really good quality high milliamp batteries and modest screen settings, but as the screen doesn't charge them internally, you would still end up swapping batteries quite a bit, so not ideal. I'd just stick to a good power bank, or plug it in if you find you normally play near a outlet.Worth noting if you prefer to use the monitor in tabletop mode with your own choice of controller, or just wish to use the monitor with a different system, the joycon holders can simply be unscrewed, making this more compact, just like a conventional portable monitor, a very nice option to have.Lastly, sound is serviceable, it goes pretty loud if you want it to, though is a touch harsh at higher volume levels. Audio, not amazing then, but certainly more than acceptable for the small size of the speakers and no worse than the rather weak built in speakers of the Switch. To summarise, the screen is a great option for playing your Switch games at their best possible quality in the Switch's docked mode at up to 1080P 60FPS. However, it still maintains the flexibility and comfort of the Switch portable handheld form factor, having your own screen and not taking up the family TV, the features that made Switch so popular in the first place, just bigger and better! A great option for those with less than perfect eye sight, or who simply like a bigger form factor. The monitor is an easy recommendation from me.

Issues
The product looks great, just what l needed, until I tried to connect the lead to the monitor. Design not great as it is difficult to push in under the controller. Also the volume button would not work.Unfortunately had to return this item.

Quality monitor
There appears to be mixed reviews on here but in my experience I couldn't be happier with this product.G-STORY portable monitor increases the Switch's screen to 10.1" and with the addition of the built in speakers gives a far improved gaming experience. There is no need for additional wires so it couldn't be easier. When your switch is connected to the portable monitor it simultaneously charges the console while playing, so there is no need to remove the console to charge separately. The monitor can also be used as a monitor for other devices via USB.My grandchildren love having the bigger monitor and I was impressed with the quality of the graphics.
