My husband wore this for his Inaugural Ball. He was the most handsome man in the room, and no one could tell the Mayor was wearing a tux from Goodwill and a $19.99 bow tie. Lol. Seriously, it's a great buy for the cost. We are bargain hunters, and this was an awesome catch! Good thickness and texture.

I bought the black bow tie to wear with my tux on a 7 day cruise. There were 3 gala nights on which I wore it. It definitely looked nice, but by the 3rd night, the edges were starting to fray (see photo). It wasn't an expensive tie, but I would have hoped to get more than 3 uses out of it.

This bow tie fits my husband's 18" collar size comfortably. We were expecting a flat silk fabric and this one is made with silk twill. If we had only zoomed in on the tie, we would have seen the weave. But now we like the twill! Maybe the seller could note in the description that the tie is made with 100% silk twill.

My husband has a really nice Hart Schaffner & Marx tuxedo, and we've tried out a few bow ties to try to match the quality of the tux. This bow tie fits the bill and looks wonderful with the tux. I watched a few you tube videos and found this one the most helpful in learning to tie it myself [...] He hasn't mastered it, but I have, so as long as I'm with him...Easy to tie after a few practice runs, has adjustable holes on the back, and stayed tied for the whole evening.

This is a good quality silk bow tie, but that is not the part I want to shout about. I got on a plane with my tux for a formal event and discovered on a Friday afternoon at the other end that I had left my bow tie behind. I had 2 choices, borrow my grandson's clip-on, or see if it was actually possible for this company to ship me a "real" tie before the next evening.That danged tie showed up at the doorstep before noon the next day. Truly amazing. I was able to attend without having to wear a kid's tie. Thank you !!

Excellent product. Soft, smooth silk - nothing else like it. No man made fabric can truly compare to good old-fashioned silk. This is a timeless piece of classic fashion and no pre-tied, clip-on is even in the same league. If you want true fashion and a genuine air of sophistication this is the bow tie to get.

If you tie your own bowtie, this all silk tie is a superior value. One note however, if you are looking for a satin finish tie, the weave in this product is more like silk twill.

This is a great quality bowtie for the price. I went to the mall the other day (came across Macy's), and noticed the bowties being 100% Silk, for about $50. Then I came across this, and I am very satisfied with the price especially. This is quality silk. I purchased both, a black and red bowtie, and these turned out to look marvelous. I'd recommend these to anyone!

Not a self tie bow tie, it is ready tied! The description is totally wrong. The package is even labelled self tie, but it is in no way a self tie, the bow is stitched onto the band! John Williams needs to sort themselves out - other reviewers had said it wasn't self tied, but I took a gamble thinking they had made an honest mistake. Shame, because the finish is lovely (and matched my lapels material perfectly). Returned this for a refund which was done easily and quickly with no problem.

Also just received this tie. It is not a self tie. It is pre tied. The label states self tie but the product is pre tied.

Bow-tie not a self tie only thing right was the colour. Sending back straight away
