I paid extra because I don't like the metal clasps. The gummed closure makes it easier to insert documents, remove documents, and reinsert documents while still being able to close the envelope in between.I use clear packing tape when I mail these big envelopes whether they have a metal clasp or not.

I really have no complaints, if mailing I would tape it up, but their honestly better quality and cheaper than the regular ones they sale in stores. I don’t really care that I have to tape it, makes no difference to me. I’d probably tape it regardless just because of how I am and I’m also shipping stuff not just paper. That said..: Absolutely will buy again when we need more!

Just what i needed

There's really nothing much to say about this product other than it does what it's meant to do at a good price.

We used these to box up our yearly records. They do not hold a very thick stack of papers but I was able to do the whole year with one box of these. (larger vendors I broke into months or quarters but that worked just fine for me.)I love that if I found a straggler or misfile document, I could easily open that envelope and add it.They are also lighter weight and no clasp for mailing but be warned, the post office has a flat rate anyway for anything above letter size so it's still about a dollar to mail a few pages.Bottom line - I am very happy with these for what I needed them for - and that was boxing up documents.

Thick, durable envelopes that are harder to tear than the other brands.Dimensions were accurate. Adhesive only covers a small area so remember to use tape to seal it more securely if shipping.

I finally ran out of my last box of these envelopes. My last batch had the metal clasps and by the time I got through all of them I noticed that the last few had marks from the claps so I was glad it was time to reorder.I really like this clear clasp design, the flap lays flat and it looks so much cleaner than the older metal closures. The paper is nice and thick, good for security when mailing. Even though these have a gummed flap, for extra security I still like to add a bit of tape to the back flap before mailing. With the flat closure it makes that even easier. Nice for storing and organizing too.

I order all of my office supplies online when I can to avoid buying carp I dont need at the store. I bought these in a hurry and didnt realize that the "closure" is a sticky pad not a clasp. My fault, no biggie.I do have to fold the flap backwards to insert papers or the sticks pad will get stuck to my papers. They dont always stay shut, so I naturally tape them once full.
