Great to smarten up old trainers
Brightened the white up well. I had to do about 5 coats to cover stains but it make a big difference. Could do with a pointed brush cos it’s tricky to avoid the colours would be ideal on fully white shoes.

Trainers have a new lease of life now!
This is a great product but I would suggest applying a thin layer at a time and do one side of the shoe at a time to limit any mess or transfer. You will want to ensure you wipe smooth any excess of the product or drips. As you can see from the photo, my daughters old trainers were absolutely knackered but still had plenty of wear. The restoring lotion has done a brilliant job of smartening them up (original shoe on the left, restored on the right!).The product is basically a thin paint-like liquid which dries to a matt finish. It took a while for me to realise you need to push down on the foam applicator to get more of the product out. You can then end up with quite a bit of product, which is a bit foamy at the start, right on your shoe. I found that using an old plastic plate to press down on to get more product out allowed me to apply the product onto the shoe without ending up with too much going on in one spot. You do need to take some time to do a good job.You will want to smooth the product out to avoid drips or areas with excess product so you get a nice smooth colour finish. I found having a baby wipe to hand enabled me to wipe any excess off the trim if needed. Doing this immediately gave a better result than wiping it once dry but you're a bit stuffed if you get it on any non-white fabric parts, so apply carefully.I used a little bit of natural shoe wax to give a slight sheen when finished. It made the shoes look a bit more like they'd done originally rather than having a matt finish.

Not a miracle worker
Works to a degree but won't get them back to looking new again.Doesn't seem to be any whitener like they used to sell when I was a child and had to whiten plimsolls all the time due to a jazz band I was in.Did two coats on my vans ..they look presentable at least.

Great product was perfect for my needs
I bought this to recover my daughter’s very expensive Dr Martins. Having watched a few you tube videos I realised that full restoration of this damage would need filling and sanding and as this is ‘milled leather’ that maybe very noticeable and beyond my skill set. They did however recommend using a product such as this and building up layers. I have included pictures of before and after. First a good clean with leather cleaner, not washing up liquid or anything that will degrease and take the natural oils from the leather. I used autogylm car leather seat cleaner as I had that in the garage. Once the shoes dried I applied this product sparingly putting a very light coats on. Be careful this is very fluid and could flood over the shoe, but after 4 coats allowing 30 mins in between to dry I am very happy with the results. From a far they look like new. I could keep going with a few more layers but I figured I’d see how this lasts. Overall very pleased and was the perfect product for this amateur restoration.

Trainers renewed
I bought these trainers in Australia in 2016. Wore them a few times but they’d already started yellowing. I used shoeboys to restore the colour a few months ago and it worked. You have to treat this like it is paint and place your trainers on a newspaper when working on them as otherwise it will cause some damage. Easy to apply and turns your trainers back to white. You need to cover up the bits you don’t want to apply the colour to. I didn’t as I don’t mind the all over white look. I did three coats initially giving about 2 hours to dry in between. I’ve then topped it up ever two weeks or so. I reckon I have enough left for another coat. So you’ll probably get 8-9 coats out of this for this type of trainers. Excellent product and great value.
