What is backlash? Take a lead screw and normal t nut. Now hold the head of the screw between the fingers of one hand and hold the nut between the finger of the other. If you push and pull on it as if you are trying to push the nut onto the bolt and then pull it off you'll be able to feel a small amount of movement between the screw and the nut. This movement is the result of the fact that the threads of the nut do not fit snugly around the threads of the screw - there is some space in there. This space is called backlash. How anti-backlash arrangement works (one spring in between two nuts) works? Preloading. Spring imposes load on both sides of the nut towards lead screw thread and thus space between them can be eliminated, simultaneously even when it is not moving, there is no backlash that needs to be taken care off.

Specify which ACME it will fit to. Not working for me
Bought this item thinking that it would fit my existing ACME rod. Latter found that this one is a four start type which does not fits 6 start type ACME rod I have. This product to be sold as a pack with the rod.Asked for a refund let me see the response.Otherwise the quality of the product looks ok.
