Youshiko tells you about temp., humidity, air pressure, moonphase and the weather for 3 d ahead
It's my second Youshiko. The first is downstairs with the sensor near the front of the house and this one sits upstairs and has the outside sensor at the rear of the house. I bought the first one (which is just for temperature) about 3 months ago. Yes, the sensors are weatherproof, no problem. Because the first one shows less information it is very easy to read. This one shows much more info and I need my reading glasses on to read, but this is fine. Otherwise it would need a much bigger display. I like that both are about the same size and have a very similar design. I tested both with their sensors side by side. All 4 showed the same temperature (0.1 degree deviation at max). I can now see also the temperature of both sensors on the same base station- they work perfectly together, just one is on Chan 1 and the other on Chan 2. You need to remember which sensor is where outside! :-). Scottish weather is anyway very unpredictable, I doubt that Youshiko is here always right, but so is the weather-forecast on TV. This little well designed station shows also the air pressure and I assume the forecast is based on this. So I'm happy with this little station and battery lasts for a long time with display always on. The setup was extremely easy- put the batteries in and it sets the time (radio time) quickly. So the time is always right, regardless of summer/winter. The sensor spook very quickly to the station. I had other stations before and believe me with other stations it was not always easy and they did not work with rechargeable batteries ... Youshiko does!Altogether I can only recommend this device/company.

Easy set up- Display faint
Set up was easy with the remote sensors (I ordered an extra one).As other people have said, the display can be difficult to ready in certain indoor lighting. It would be better with less items shown and the writing bigger. The writing on the graph display is to small to read except at very close range. Overall it does what I need and I would recommend.

Faulty unit
Nice weather station but the outside humidity reading has a fault. It is constantly reading as H1%. Have contacted Youshiko service / support and they said to remove batteries wait 2 minutes re-insert batteries and reset both sensor and main unit. I followed the advice and after re-connecting the main unit with the sensor, the outside humidity was still reading H1%. Have contacted (emailed) Youshiko service again and I am now waiting further advice for remedial action.UPDATE 14 Oct 19: Received email from Youshiko Ltd requesting return of the product together with all AA batteries even though they were not supplied with the product. Post Office leaflet on posting prohibited batteries did not clearly state whether USED Alkaline batteries could be posted with the product. When Youshiko Ltd were challenged why the batteries were required as well, especially as they had not been delivered with the product. Silence i.e. no further support emails have been received. I suspect that the product being posted with the batteries (being prohibited items) would have been refused, lost or discarded by the Post Office. This could enable Youshiko Ltd to abrogate responsibility for providing a replacement product.Youshiko Ltd is a Private Limited Company operating with one Director from a house in Romford, Essex. In my view and experience the company is very small and resource limited and is unlikely provide effective (after sales) customer support. I am now left with weather station that cannot display the outside humidy.

Neat, compact - and it works
After a lot of research, I chose this Youshiko 3 days forecast weather station and so far I'm not disappointed. I have a Vantage Vue weather station for which the outdoor temp and humidity sensors have failed. It was cheaper for me to buy another product rather than have the Vantage repaired. The Youshiko seems robustly made, it has a clear screen that can be viewd from a range of angles and at the moment it's showing to be fairly accurate. Indoor temp and humidity read exactly the same as my Vantage and the outdoor temp matches the large max/min thermometer we have on the front wall. Setting up was a doddle, although I do recommend setting the barometer to be relative to your location/altitude, then the forecasts are likely to be more realistic. The outdoor sensor does need some protection. It is described as splashproof, but I doubt it would handle some of the gales and rain we get here. Usually, when these things fail it's the outdoor components that go first. Decent protection, while stil allowing good air circulation, should considerably extend their life. Finally, if you're looking around at these lower priced options, steer clear of the products that only offer temp and humidity, then claim to give you a weather forecast. For a forecast to have any hope of accuracy it must have barometric pressure, as this Youshiko does.

Didn't work out of the box. Returned.
The unit's remote sender was faulty, returned for a full refund. From my time with the unit, the screen was a little difficult to read and although I could sync the time with a different unit I could not in half an hour with this one, maybe that was faulty too.Disappointed and will now be buying a weather station the next price point up namely £60.

Elegant design
This looks smart and does the job well. My only complaint is that the Max/Min setting has no time limit, unlike the Oregon Scientific this replaces, which had a 12hr span. This enabled you to see the nightime low for the previous night, which was very handy indeed. To achieve that on this Youshiko you have to remember to reset the Max/Min button every night, which is quite annoying.
