Super Lube97008 Silicone Lubricating Brake Grease with PTFE, 8 oz Tube, Translucent White

Bought for brake calipers. Nearly a year later, it's been working great. No sign of pin boot degradation or other issues.

Awesome silicone lubricant, with bonus PTFE. Feels a bit tacky and not super smooth in hands, but after assembly it performs incredibly. My first use was on o-rings for bathroom faucet, and it almost worked too well, because the faucet handle would literally fall down and shut itself off just from own weight and gravity, everything was so slick and happy. I'm extremely happy with this product, and highly recommend it. (Note: Do NOT use the original Super Lube Multi-Purpose on rubber, trust me you will regret it, use a proper silicone-based product like this.) (Also: This item 97008 is an 8 oz tube marketed to automotive, while 92003 is a 3 oz tube marketed to general use, while seemingly the same product, and very similar price, so buy this one!)

Good material, and protects metal parts.

I bought this 5 1/2 years ago (12/30/17) here for $10.77. What is it now, $20? I doubt I'd give it five stars if I bought it now. But it's been very useful to have it in the house. I've used it 20 times and probably more. I have plenty of grease in the garage but the garage isn't attached my house and it can be hard to get to stuff sometimes in the morass of the garage.I just used it for its dielectric properties on the circuit board of an old remote control after cleaning off corrosion with diluted rubbing alcohol. I applied a very thin coating of the grease except where the button contacts are. The remote is for a 30 year old Philips CD player (CD840) that I cherish, but hadn't used for a couple years. (It was a miracle that I was able to pry the remote apart without destroying it since I discovered it had been permanently glued together by the manufacturer.) I looked here for comments on using the grease for its dielectric properties. I have extra packets of dielectric grease that came with car parts and I have a small tube of it too. But I see this grease lists its "dielectric strength" at 400. Looking at Wikipedia, and other, that should be very good to use for insulating purposes. I looked at a good bunch of the straight-up dielectric grease products (typically sold in about 7 to 10 grams tubes), and none give their dielectric strength. In the Q&A for this product, responders said they wouldn't use it for auto electrical, and I agreed when I read it. This here grease can seem a little runny (which has its advantages for lubricating some things). But now that I've smeared it lightly on a circuit board to prevent corrosion, and the remote has been restored to its old glory, I believe it will perform great for most dielectric uses.

Bought this (hopefully) lifetime supply of silicon brake lube for the motorcycle projects I have been working on. Yesterday I replaced all the rotors and pads on our family minivan, so got to use it a bit more. My only complaint is that it is fairly liquid-y when coming out of the tube, presumably because of the extremely warm Texas summer. Other than that, it spreads easily on the bolts and should keep everything protected and quiet.

I use this primarily on several different 3D printers to keep everything greased up and running. Seems to work OK on rails and other friction points even in the hot enclosure. This tube will probably last me decades.

Decent size hand tube. This grease is multipurpose not just for brakes. Easy to apply good stick. High dielectric keeps dirt and moisture out!

I found that the rubber bushings on these newer cars/trucks are sensitive to the brake grease, I was told to switch over to using silicone pin lube. Brakes work flawless and less customer complaints of sticking brakes down the line.
