What a great set!
This is just what i was looking for. Comes with all the lengths you would need and worked with my micrometer. Also a nice case to keep things together at a good price. Would buy again.

Handy set.
Good set for occasional user. I use these to lengthen or shorten the roller on the end of my dial gauge when seeking centricity on a rotating apparatus.

Good Product for the Price
I recently purchased these, and after receiving, tested them almost immediately. I will say I was a bit leery of them due to some of the review, but since they were older reviews, I was hoping the manufacturer had addressed the concerns voiced in the reviews. The first concern I saw was that the female threads were not always as smooth as they should be. No problem, I ordered a 4-48 tap set to go with the rods. The first thing I did was to check a couple of the rods female threads with the bottoming tap. I found them not to be so much rough as just not cleaned out. Not a huge deal since I ordered the tap set.Next I took a tip from my Fowler dial indicator and it screwed into each of the extensions, and held tight very nicely. Then I screwed each of the rods into the same Fowler dial indicator. Here is where I ran into a couple of issues. 2 of the rods did not want to screw in very well. They would go in, but the threads have to be lined up just so, and it takes a bit of wiggling to get them to start properly. Under magnification, the lead thread on both of the rods is mashed a bit. leading to some binding. a bit of cleanup on the thread with some judicious pressure and a needle file cleared the issue up.The diameter of the rods seems to be a very close, albeit not exact, fit to the Fowler indicator. Nothing to get upset about for the price though. The case is very nice. Injection molded plastic with a REAL hinge. May not last a lifetime, but better than most these days. There is some very minor rough handling marks on the rods, but again, this was seen under magnification. The only real issue I have with them is the male threads. Aside from the unpolished/mashed threads mentioned above, the fitment could be a lot better. I am basing this statement on the original tip threading into the Indicator. About 1/2 of the way in, it gets tight and fits very well even without being tightened. These rods will tighten nicely, but they fit fairly sloppy all the way into the indicator. Make sure you tighten them properly to ensure accuracy.Overall, these are an excellent product for the money, if used properly.

Nice set of dial indicator extensions as advertised.
Nice set of dial indicator extensions as advertised. I needed to have a 4 inch extension and got this set and am very pleased. These have basically a slightly curved but mostly flat tip at the end whereas some indicator tips have a small metal ball style tip at the end but these still work for me great.

Very nicely made. SAE 4-48 thread size. Fits Starrett test indicater.
The case has a good hinge on it.The foam rubber inside the storage case seems to have been exposed to heat whice has caused the glue to fail. Needs a re-glue job.The extension rods are high quality. They are straight and polished. I verified the threads are all done very nicely. Thread size isSAE 4-48. Great value for the money.
