Pretty useful.
I bought this on a whim because it was on sale. I didn't need it, and couldn't think of a use for it when I hit the "Buy" button, but it's proved to be a really handy piece of kit. You're not going to be able to use this to run a fridge or a kettle, but it will easily power the internet modem and Wi-Fi router in a blackout, all while charging your tablet....... and being able to sit in the dark watching Netflix on my tablet beats twiddling my thumbs and waiting for dawn. :D . It will also happily run things like a Dremel and smaller power tools, so I often find myself reaching for this and a battery rather then unrolling/re-rolling an extension cord. It's one of those accessories that, if you've got it, you'll find uses for it, so if you've bought into the "Ryobi One+" brand, and usually have a few charged batteries kicking around, it's a worthy addition to your tool box.

A must have item
Given all the power cuts we keep getting here in the UK, I thought it would be prudent to get one of these inverters and glad I got one as it was in use the next day. Can now power my phone landline back up during a blackout. The built in torch is a useful feature.Ordered another one to power my modem so we have the internet too.

Perfect for work
Brought for work to take on Building sites. As a commissioning engineer using a laptop I need a 240v socket as laptop doesn't last 8hrs. This is great but you do need a 5ah battery or higher. It kept my laptop running all day. I have a Ryobi Fast Charge and it takes about 2hrs to charge a 5ah battery.I actually charged the battery at work in a boilerhouse for free last week, got home used the inverter to produce 240v for my Xmas tree lights and it lasted 7hrs of free electric . The inverter only produces 150watts at 240vac so don't go plugging heaters and kettles in it as it won't work.

Very useful for powercuts
If you already have Ryobi kit and batteries is a useful addition. Good value if you can get it for about £45.

Perfect.
Works a treat, A 5ah battery lasts for 2hrs 10 mins running a 50 light LED string, ideal for festivals camping or emergency power.

Missed a couple of tricks...
It loses a star for an accumulation of small irritations.First, it works, which is great. Two USB ports which are reasonably powered (2.4A), and 150w AC out of a small device like this is pretty cool. Add a 5Ah battery and good times in a small package. Have not yet done a full test on its capacity, but I'm comfortable that it will do what I need for USB charging and a pretty bright light on full power.Downsides:The slot for the phone is angled the wrong way, so if you need the light on it's in your face instead of into the space. The power button is unreliable. It's a double click to activate the light, again to brighten it, and once more to turn it off. Timing seems critical and takes sometimes several goes to get through the changes. Also, it's a long press to activate the power features (USB and Inverter) which sometimes just doesn't register. That's the bugsThe feature request, as it were, would be a way to use this as a charger for the battery. Given that the 1.5Ah charger is so small (basically just a housing around the battery terminal) I think it should have been relatively easy to fit even a 1Ah charge circuit into the space. Would have made it the mondo combo.EDIT: Got a meter on it to test, and it's not outputting at 50Hz, only 35Hz or so and not stable, ranging from 30-40Hz (same meter on mains voltage is 49.9Hz and rock solid). Best guess is that it's a modified rather than sine wave inverter, and the meter is having trouble with it.Would not trust any sensitive electronics to this. Chargers are *probably* fine. AC motor products might be tricky...See second photo. That's another star lost.
