Q: How many boxes should I buy for 1) 980 sq feet using 9x48" tiles and 2) 1134 sq feet using 32x32" tiles?

This would be the closest estimate: 1. how many pieces of tiles in on this project? 2. Multiply the tile pieces by 4 for this leveling kit. i.e. (if you have 400 pcs of tiles times 4 corners, you would need 1600 spacers, 1 kit and buy the the spacers and wedges separate as many as you want. 2. The wedges, I bougth extra also for how many tiles you can lay in a day. Otherwise wait next day to reuse the ones installed.

I wouldn’t use them for 8” tiles, no need

I used 1/16 to lay 12 x 24 inch tiles and they worked great using the pliers

Q: Why won’t they break after tile mortar is set?

Dwight, I thought the same but I was trying to bend/break with my hands.... you really need to use rubber mallet and hit them down the grout line...(i usually do this whennyellow wedge still there) .sometimes a clear tab or 2 will remain after hitting...take electrical pliers, grab tab and swift jerk in same direction of grout line.... it will pop out!!
