It works, for sure!
I had forgotten how long ago I had purchased this for my Mom. I sure worked for her, since it "talked". It really suited her needs!Había olvidado cuánto tiempo hacía que había comprado esto para mi mamá. Seguro que trabajé para ella, ya que "hablaba". ¡Realmente se adaptaba a sus necesidades!

Overall useful set for folks with slight to moderate hearing loss who don't wear hearing aids.
This is a good phone for people with somewhat reduced hearing who do NOT wear a hearing aid. You can increase or decrease the sound level easily and can also change the tonality of the sound for folks who have problems with deep voices. There is also a boost button which will make the sound much louder which we only use when on speaker phone. Buttons are a nice size and well defined with light. I gave the phone four stars because my husband, who has some neuropathy problems in his large hands that makes it difficult for him to judge how hard or lightly he is gripping something, often accidently hits the buttons on the side of the handset, which changes the tonality and sound level mid conversation. He's starting to get used to it, but it has been aggravating for him.

Panasonic Cordless Phone For Hard of Hearing \ Visually Impaired
In 2017 my grandmother was in her early 90's began needing to spend time in hospital in the hospital and assisted living center for complex health conditions she had most of her life but became more delicate as she grew more mature. One of the newer but not unexpectedly issues was hearing and visual impairments. One of the aids we needed was a phone she could use. Our family has been long time Panasonic Cordless phone users for a long time so this is the model we chose.Set up of this device is going to be something most visually impaired love ones are going to need assistance with as the direction booklet although detailed it really isn't printed for those with visual issues of any kind. You also need to be rather nimble while programming. Luckily Had two of us there to help Santa Claus with the set up of her gift. She really liked it and P.T. & O.T. helped her learn where the different buttons were. She really liked it and used it everyday several times a day while away. However we quickly learned that this device and another Panasonic Cordless phone device in the same household doesn't work together even if you have them in separate phone jacks. Not certain why this was exactly. ISo it spent a fair amount of time in it's box unused until mid 2018 when it saw daily use for a few years. Hard of hearing and visual cued phones sure have come along way since the 1970s when my grandfather needed these being hearing impaired from birth. There was a constant hum from those. As I recall having picked up his phone a few times. When there was no call connected. Verses this phone where there is no sound until dialing or ringing. We would highly recommend this product for others who are in need of this type of aid.

A MUCH-BELATED THANK YOU FOR A HUGELY HELPFUL PRODUCT....Not just a game-changer...
I bought this maybe 3 years ago, after failed relationships with captioned phones, regular phones, blue-toothy connections etc. Since my hearing is a bit worse than the levels mentioned, I was at first dubious, but within a couple of weeks, I ordered 2 of the hand-sets. For me, this is not just a game-changer, but a life-changer. Before, most phone calls were stressful because I really couldn't count on being able to hear everything - which matters when dealing with medical or financial stuff; the captioned phone (provided by another nice company, courtesy of FTC, btw) for me wasn't accurate enough, seemed awkward to place and use etc. After getting my Panasonic base unit, I can't remember if I read the manual, but fairly quickly had this up and running. Fiddled with controls (since I avoid reading manuals), was able to find a combination that actually allows me to clearly hear most calls :"}!! (For me, that's still with my hearing aids, ok?). There's a very nice 'slow' button that helps should you run into one of the increasing number of fast talkers out there ;']. There's a clip on it, which has been helpful bec among other things, I can get in some steps when on a longer call with the Brother. I don't always use the clip, in large part bec I bought 2 hand-sets. Theie set-up was VERY easy bec you're not limited to finding (old?!) phone jacks - instead, you can plug these into a regular outlet (and can move to another area very easily if desired), then enjoy the freedom of a cordless when using them. There's the nifty button on the base unit that helps you quickly locate the phone if need be, plus intercom for those who want that. I'm sure I've missed other details, but hopefully this is enough to let the 'really' hard-of-hearing get the idea. PANASONIC - Force be with you!

No middle ground adjustment on the volume
The phone works ok, but there is no middle ground on the vol. The boost is to loud for me and the highest of the normal is to low. There is no over lap between the two. The batteries are Ni-Mh, not lithium, which means in a couple years, or maybe less they will need to be replaced. Tough to find good equipment for the hearing impaired. This is phone is just ok, and if you had really bad hearing loss the boost would probably do the job for you. It rings. It lights up. That's about it.
