Beautiful Transfer. Terrific sound. I liked the idea of making a film of this Stoker chapter. Very nice production with an outstanding music score (rare these days). I ,too, felt like the lead actor was a Hollywood diversity selection. He is a very fine actor but his character was contrived in my opinion...why would a Cambridge grad of any color want to crew this doomed ship? Still a great entertainment and I strongly recommend this Alien like film.

Excellent Blu-Ray. Despite the poor reviews, it's a solid story, with great fx. Good behind the scenes material. Might've shown the monster too much for its own good. Think the writer/director was trying a little too hard to scare or gross out the audience. With a few slight edits, would be a topnotcher.

The Last Voyage of the Demeter is a great looking period piece with a cool Gothic vibe and some new twists on the Dracula legend.The acting is solid and so is the cinematography and visual effects.Dracula himself was heavily influenced by Bram Stoker's Dracula, directed by Francis Ford Coppola, but he was still creepy nonetheless.As others have pointed out, having a woman and a black man as the heroes of a film that takes place in 1897 immediately dates this movie as a product of DEI Hollywood.Both are very solid actors, but for this particular movie they really did feel inserted into the middle of a story for no reason other than modern stunt casting.And the "Blade the Vampire Hunter" final shot with narration was absolutely ridiculous.Spoiler alert, nobody survived the Demeter journey in the book Dracula, that's why the captain's journal is so important, because there's no one left alive to tell the story.So overall it's not a bad little horror film with a good amount of gore, but personally I'll just stick to the various Nosferatu movies out there, especially the 1979 and 2024 versions which cover the same exact series of events.

Love this movie I have watched it three times and will continue watching it. What a great movie and cast. Some people believe Dracula character was CGI. He wasn't it was a real actor playing Dracula. Watch the added extras to see how this film was made. The sense of doom on the ship is so well done. First the dog then the animals on the ship used for food gone then the crew one by one. Dracula is portrayed as a complete monster and demon not as a man in a black cape. I cannot say enough good things about this movie.

Sufficiently spooky, but slow in the beginning.

I don't know what took it so long to release this movie in Region 2, but I couldn't wait so I bought this one. No regrets here, awesome movie and great edition with high quality sound and picture. Highly recommended!
