I'm practicing to re take my GCSE after 20 years without having done maths with the Grade 5 books and as my son is struggling with his maths I have bought the Grade 3 ones for him. I've use this book and it is clear and well presented. The chapters always start with a page of quizz, then each sub categories starts with a detailed exercise with a step-by-step explanation. The rest of the page are exercises to practice including some GCSE test-like questions. The 2 last pages of a chapter are a self-evaluation one and problems one. Each chapter gives you a lot of exercises to practice from and to integrate the notions. I really found these books easy to work with. They are meant to practice, you might need a revision guide if you really need to understand further some notions. Only "down" point I could think of is that there is not enough space on the page to write your reasoning.

Very helpful for filling in knowledge gaps for gcse. Using it with my son, good explanations and plenty of practise questions

Excellent book well aligned to the requirements of the new GCSE course.

Useful for students who need to consolidate fundamental GCSE maths skills. Not too intimidating in size but the payoff is that the writing is small and there is not much room to write answers or show working.
